To Compose

Ink on paper is as beautiful to me as flowers on the mountains; God composes, why shouldn’t we?  ~Terri Guillemets

I thank you God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of the trees and a blue dream of sky. ~ e. e. cummings

Well, NaNo ends in three err, two days (can you tell I wrote this post on Sunday?). I thought I’d combine these two quotes for my final NaNo Quote post. First off, we have an incredible world. There’s no better inspiration than stepping our your front door. And second of all, writing is our way of creating beauty in this world. I’m so grateful for this talent and passion. It enriches my life; I hope one day it will enrich the lives of others.

Happy Writing!

I write speculative fiction inspired by mythos from around the world, complex family dynamics, and my own experiences living with mental illness. After earning my BA in Linguistics from Brigham Young University in 2008, I received my MFA in Creative Writing from Converse College in 2012. I live in Denver, where my husband and I spend countless hours chasing our three young sons (and sometimes catching them!). I collect tarot decks, dye my hair mermaid colors, and procrastinate by decorating my home. My debut novel, Feathers Sharp as Knives, releases on May 2, 2023.
