I have deemed this winter, my post-semester life, as “Catch up on my YA TBR Pile.”
(Also, I feel like I’m always playing catch-up from a trip. We were gone this weekend (a whole 48 hours to Utah) and I spent much of yesterday reading and commenting on blogs. You guys post a lot!)

24 books! I’ll be busy for a while, especially since I have a stack of books I borrowed from a friend this summer that I still need to get through as well. And the books by my fabulous professors. It’ll be fun to have time to read books of my own choosing again! Basically, this list is composed of books I’ve been wanting to read for a while, recommendations from friends, and recent releases that are all the buzz in the blogosphere. Which books am I most excited for? SHATTER ME; HOLD ME CLOSER, NECROMANCER; DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE; ON THE JELLICOE ROAD; PARANORMALCY; and THE BOOK THIEF. But I’m looking forward to reading ALL of them, otherwise they wouldn’t be on the list!
Have you read any of these books? Which ones did you love? Do you have any other suggestions?
The Book Thief may not change your life, but it will make you think about it. A brilliant work.
I’m super excited to read it. It might be the one I’m most looking forward to, since it’s been on my TBR list for years now.
Eeek! I haven’t read *any* of them! I’m way behind on YA reading (obviously). Oh well, I’ll get there eventually. Thanks for the tips Kris. I’ll come back to this post when I’m compiling wish lists… or maybe my Christmas list… :)
Don’t feel bad! You’re obviously not the only one. ^_^
I’ve read “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.” I’m a fan of Sherman Alexie’s work. :-)
To Cheryl AND Kirsten: I’ve heard great things about ABSOLUTELY TRUE… and I’m really looking forward to it. I haven’t read anything else of Alexie’s work. Perhaps this will be a gateway-book? We’ll see!
I loved The Book Thief. Also the Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian. Imaginary Girls is also good. I haven’t read the rest, but there are some on my list, too.
